Respiratory Supplies (for Individuals Living with a Neuromuscular Disease in the US)
We understand that some United States (US) insurance companies don’t cover the amount of respiratory supplies some of us with Neuromuscular Disease (NMD) need, and some do not have the financial means to purchase them "out of pocket." We provide consumable respiratory-related supplies only (what you see listed on this page) and do not provide equipment like ventilators, bi-levels, or other respiratory devices. Qualified individuals may submit one request for supply items per month and are asked to review any supply quantity limits and request no more than the listed limit.
How to Request A Respiratory Supply Item
IMPORTANT: THIS PROGRAM IS ONLY FOR THOSE WITH A DIAGNOSED OR STRONGLY SUSPECTED NEUROMUSCULAR DISEASE (I.E MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY, SPINAL MUSCULAR ATROPHY, CONGENITAL MYOPATHY, OR OTHER CONDITION UNDER THE MDA USA UMBRELLA OF CONDITIONS). Those who have other conditions will have their request denied, as this program is funded specifically for those with an NMD.
We are an all-volunteer, peer-led organization with no paid staff, so it may take us a couple of days to process your request.
How To Donate a Respiratory Supply Item
To donate a sealed, unused consumable respiratory supply item from a smoke-free home that has not exceeded its "use by date, first contact us at Info@breathewithmd.org with details of your item(s). There are times when we have limited storage space or have exceeded our supply storage space and are unable to take some or all of your items, so please check with us first. We cannot accept any equipment such as nebulizers, humidifiers, CoughAssists, bi-level devices (BiPAPs), or ventilators. We are an all-volunteer, peer-led organization with no paid staff, so it may take us a couple of days or so to respond.
