Five Reasons to "Walk" This September

8/29/2023

  1. Walking/rolling/scooting (moving) is FREE!  In a time when everything costs something, why not do something that costs only your time? Take a few minutes to register for our 20 Mile Walk Challenge, create your challenge Facebook fundraiser for Breathe with MD, Inc., periodically get out and move from September 1-30, and lastly, post updates of your progress (selfies, photos of your surroundings, and/or videos) towards reaching the goal miles.
  2. Walking/rolling/scooting (moving) allows you to see your surroundings at your own pace. Get out to see your community and what's happening in the area. Has something changed with a neighbor's home just a few doors down that perhaps you've missed?
  3. Walking/rolling/scooting (moving) allows us to see the changes around us. With the fast-paced lives many of us lead, it's easy to miss out on the simple beauty around us. See plants that bloom and change seasonally,  and experience the weather changes (likely cooler temps in September).
  4. Walking/rolling/scooting (moving) allows us to reconnect with nature and others around us. Experience the smell of fresh air, feel a gentle breeze, and see and/or chat with neighbors we don't see often or meet new ones.
  5. It’s an easy, opportunity to give back to Breathe with MD, Inc.  If you have been a pulse oximeter or a respiratory supplies recipient, or if you or a loved one has benefited in some other way from our mission and/or programs, this is an opportunity to raise awareness and funds on Facebook for our 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity that requires individual donor support to operate. Take advantage of this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those with Neuromuscular Disease (NMD).

If you have any questions at all about our 20 Mile Walk Challenge, don’t hesitate to contact us. Unsure how to create a Facebook fundraiser for the challenge? We can coordinate a time to help you; just let us know. We will encourage and cheer you on during September in our private Facebook group, “20 Mile Walk Challenge.”

We appreciate your support and look forward to working with you!
